As the year draws to a close, we pause to reflect on what has been another meaningful chapter in the story of Manyoni Private Game Reserve. Each year brings its own challenges and triumphs, and 2025 has been no exception. What remains constant, however, is the unwavering commitment to protecting this landscape, its wildlife, and the people who dedicate their lives to its conservation.
Protecting Wildlife, Every Day
At the heart of Manyoni lies its wildlife — from iconic species like rhino, elephant and big cats, to the countless lesser-seen animals that play a vital role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Throughout the year, our conservation teams have worked tirelessly to monitor wildlife, manage habitats and respond to threats such as poaching and snaring.
Anti-poaching efforts remain a cornerstone of our work. Our rangers continue to patrol day and night, often under difficult conditions, to ensure the safety of the animals entrusted to our care. Their courage, dedication and professionalism are the backbone of Manyoni’s success, and we are deeply grateful for their service.
Standing Strong Against Threats
Snaring and illegal activities remain ongoing challenges across protected areas in South Africa, and Manyoni is no exception. This year saw several critical interventions, rescues and preventative efforts that highlight the importance of vigilance and rapid response. Each successful rescue is a reminder of why continued investment in ranger support, equipment and training is essential.
The People Behind the Reserve
Behind every patrol, every rescue and every conservation milestone is a team of dedicated individuals. From rangers and management to maintenance, operations and support staff, each person plays a critical role in keeping Manyoni running. This year, we also celebrated teamwork, resilience and moments of joy — reminders that conservation is not only about protecting wildlife, but about supporting the people who protect it.
Looking Ahead
As we move into a new year, we do so with renewed determination and hope. There is still much work to be done, but also much to be proud of. Manyoni remains a living example of what is possible when people come together for conservation.
To everyone who has walked this journey with us in 2025 — thank you. Your support helps ensure that Manyoni Private Game Reserve continues to thrive, today and for generations to come.
From all of us at Manyoni, we wish you a safe, peaceful and hopeful festive season and a conservation-filled year ahead.
