This Christmas, we’re shining a light on the importance of ranger protection and inviting our community to stand with the heroes who make conservation possible.
Why Ranger Protection Matters
Despite their critical role, rangers often operate with limited resources and without adequate personal protection. Injuries, accidents, wildlife encounters, and dangerous field conditions are everyday risks.
That’s why partnerships like the Game Ranger Association of Africa (GRAA) and SATIB are so important. Together, they provide life-changing coverage that includes:
- Accident and disability cover
- Death benefits for families
- Medical evacuation and emergency support
This support ensures that rangers are not left vulnerable in the moments they need help most.
The Cost of Cover: Just R800 a Year
One of the most remarkable parts of this initiative is its affordability.
For less than R800—or about 45 USD—a ranger can receive full cover for an entire year.
A small contribution can protect a life. A single donation can create security for a ranger and their family. When we talk about impact, it doesn’t get more direct or meaningful than this.
