The first Pango Pup

Some of you may remember Pangolin Cory who was rescued from the illegal wildlife trade back in 2020 and after spending a few months in a soft release program, she was released back into the wild on Manyoni Private Game Reserve.

Two years later she has had her first pangopup, also the first pangopup to be born out of our pangolin project! This is such an amazing discovery and makes the pangolin project so much more rewarding as not only are we rescuing and giving second chances to trafficked pangolins, but they are finally starting to breed and add to the wild population.

Many hours and sleepless nights have gone into this project so THANK YOU to everyone who has been involved! We monitor our released pangolins with SAT and VHF tags as well as camera traps. A HUGE thanks goes to @fstopfoundation and @wildtomorrowfund who sponsored six incredible camera trap kits to our pangolin project. Without this monitoring tool we would never have been able to capture this footage 💚
