Early Learning Centres
The Zululand Conservation Trust (ZCT) has established four early learning centres within the neighbouring Mandlakazi community that borders Manyoni Private Game Reserve. These crèches provide a safe and nurturing environment where young children can learn, play, and grow. We provide ongoing monthly support to ensure that each child receives a warm, nutritious meal every day, while also contributing to the maintenance of the facilities and the salaries of the teachers. Currently, the four centres collectively support around 150 toddlers.
To further enhance nutrition and sustainability, the Zululand Conservation Trust has developed vegetable gardens at each of the centres. Managed by the teachers, these gardens produce a variety of hardy crops suited to the Zululand climate, including spinach, cabbage, tomatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, peppers, and indigenous fruit trees. These gardens play a vital role in supplying fresh, nutrient-rich food essential for healthy childhood development. Through these initiatives, Manyoni and ZCT are committed to supporting early childhood development while strengthening community wellbeing
If you are interested in supporting a monthly food drop, donating clothing, stationery, toys or want to contribute towards the sustainable vegetables gardens, please mail us at admin@zululandconservationtrust.org or visit the Zululand Conservation Trust website.
